New Hampshire Rehabilitation Association's Committees
There are a variety of standing committees to support the mission and activities. In order to keep these committees current and vital we are interested in having any member serve on any of them. In some cases NHRA membership is not required to participate in committee work. There is something here to meet the interests, talents and time available for any NHRA member. If you are, or might be, interested in participating on one of these committees please contact Judy Sanderson at judy.sanderson@gsil.org. The committees are as follows:
- Training
Purpose: The Training Committee is charged with the duties of conceptualization and planning of all training programs for the NHRA including the program for the annual conference and other divisional and regional trainings. Representation from all active divisions of NHRA is sought. Other members are solicited from the rehabilitation community at large to insure a representative cross section of professionals in the fields to the extent possible. The Training Committee works very closely with the Annual Conference Committee to coordinate the annual conference.
- Scholarship
Purpose: The Scholarship Committee is charged with overseeing and administering the NHRA scholarship program, which grants scholarships to professionals and students in the field of rehabilitation. The committee recommends procedures and policies to the board as well as recommending specific scholarship grants. The committee is responsible for reviewing scholarship applications, awarding grants and coordinating the presentation of the awards. The committee is also responsible for fundraising activities.
- Membership
Purpose: The Membership Committee is charged with planning and implementing activities aimed at retention of current members and recruiting new members. The committee is responsible for tracking and assisting in renewals of membership and contacting members whose memberships have lapsed.
- Legislative
Purpose: The Legislative Committee is responsible for monitoring legislative issues and actions on the local, state, and national level and alerting board members of activity. The Chair is responsible for distributing legislative alerts from the national office to board members in a timely fashion.
- Community Service
Purpose: The Community Service Committee is responsible for identifying community service projects for the NHRA Board to review and adopt. It is also responsible for coordinating any activities that are required by the project(s) and reporting on the results at board meetings.
- Nominating
Purpose: The Nominating Committee is charged with soliciting and reviewing nominations for board positions. The committee meets yearly to establish the slate of nominees, which are then placed on the ballot for vote by the membership.
- Awards
Purpose: The Awards Committee solicits nominations for the annual NHRA awards presentations. The committee reviews all nominations and votes to select award recipients. The committee is also responsible for insuring the award plaques are obtained for the annual meeting and coordinates the presentation of the awards.
- Conference Committee
Purpose: The Conference Committee oversees the logistical planning of the annual conference and periodically the Northeast Regional Conference. The committee is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the various members and committees involved in planning the event.
